Why You Should Consider Bringing a Professional Photographer On Your Next Family Trip
As a photographer and a parent, I understand the importance of capturing precious family memories. From first steps to family vacations, those moments are treasures we want to remember for a lifetime and be able to have ways to reminisce. Every year, I make it a priority to spend a few weeks in another country, sometimes work leads me to a particular part of the world, other times I choose the destination based on my own personal desires. As an artist and creative, you have to give yourself opportunities to be inspired, chances for your mind to explore. In this blog post, I’ll highlight the importance of hiring a travel photographer for families, as well as the benefits of being both present in the moment and documenting your time away and I’m sharing where I am heading for the summer.

Tips for a Successful Family Travel Photography Session
Communication and collaboration:
I always make it a priority to emphasize the importance of open communication and collaboration with my clients. It’s important to share your ideas, expectations, and preferences to create the memories that will mean something to you. The intention is to capture your family’s personality and create images that you’ll be able to cherish as you look back on these days.
Choosing the right location:
When planning your family’s destination photography session, I recommend choosing a location that holds special meaning to you or represents the essence of your vacation. The most important thing is that the location you choose is meaningful so that the photographs will be memorable to look back on for generations. While on vacation, I personally do our family photos at a location where we spent the most amount of time or that we enjoyed the most.
Timing and scheduling:
I recommend doing your photos approximately halfway through your trip, that way it helps avoid anyone being too sunburnt. Depending on what part of the world you are in and what the temperatures are, choosing a time with beautiful lighting and a relaxed atmosphere is most important. I recommend either early morning or early evening to avoid the busiest tourist times, allowing your family to feel more comfortable and at ease during the shoot.

As an entrepreneur I’ve learned that new ideas come the same way, at times when you least expect it, one idea leads to another and allows you the ability to be open to create something fresh, new & beautiful. This summer I’m looking forward to opening myself to chances to be inspired, chances to grow and explore. I’m going to be working with some artists & families in another country as we combine some family time, personal time and work.
I’ve had the privilege of doing what I love in some beautiful destinations over the past few years, from Hawaii to Portugal and in a 2 weeks I am headed to Barbados for the summer to create some new memories for both myself and some other families.
